About
Megan J. Pickard
Personal
I grew up in the Pacific North West and I enjoy long distance running, trail runnning and hiking, camping, cooking, reading and spending time with my family.
Professional
I have worked in various settings including family homeless shelters, Hospice bereavement, hospitals, schools, community mental health clinics, as well as on-and-offsite mental health support for First responders following natural disasters and traumatic events. I specialize in working with those impacted by anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, major life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, chronic pain/illness, and changes in roles and relationships. I believe that grief arrives from many different types of losses and that sharing both difficult and joyous memories help individuals find balance as they seek their best quality of life. I often utilize talk therapy and other forms of creative processing to help you share and understand your story.
In our work together, we will identify your goals, learn coping techniques, and focus on developing a pathway to a better quality of life. I believe therapy can be a place of healing, support, and unconditional acceptance. I also believe that within that space should be laughter, creativity, meaning, and joy. There are many aspects to ourselves, some difficult and many joyous. We won't forget to process the joy as we process the pain.
Whether you are seeking short term consultation or long-term care, I am committed to partnering with you to offer hope, support, and an environment in which you can begin to heal. Thank you for stopping by, I hope I can help you find a way that works for you
